Starlight Concert Series
June 18, 2019

Performer: Brandon Markell Holmes (Alternative R&B) | Evanston's 2019 Starlight Concert Series will feature nine free outdoor concerts at park locations throughout the city, June 4 through July 30. Starlight concerts will take place on Tuesdays from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Interactive family activities will occur before each concert from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. In the event of rain, concerts will take place at the Levy Senior Center, located at 300 Dodge Ave. (except June 18 concert). Frances Willard House Tours

Visitors can visit the Frances Willard House and learn about the Women’s Christian Temperance Union’s (WCTU) historic work against sex trafficking worldwide. As the world’s largest women’s organization by 1890, the WCTU took a strong stance against an issue that we still grapple with today. Be inspired as you learn about the ways in which these women worked together to create positive change in the world. FWHM members are free for all tours and programs. $10 for adults; $5 for students (children under 6 are free). Hot Summer Nights Series

Kids Duathlon

On your mark, get set, go! Test your skills at our annual Kids’ Duathlon. The event includes biking and running. Bring a bicycle (no training wheels), helmet and tennis shoes. All participants receive an event T-shirt. After the event, participants can enjoy pizza, drinks and admission to Meadowhill Aquatic Center. Check the website for age divisions and distances. Frances Willard House Museum Tour

Willard was a 19th century women’s rights leader, social justice advocate, and political activist. She was most well-known as the President of the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union (WCTU), but her “Do Everything” agenda for social reform went far beyond temperance to include women’s rights, social justice, and world peace.
