While a raging thunderstorm traps 10 weekend guests in an English country home, they discover wealthy Lord Rancour has been murdered. Did the butler do it? Is the killer the saucy maid, the ne’er-do-well nephew, the young ingénue with her dashing new boyfriend or another guest? Filled with campy songs and zany characters, Something's Afoot is a hilarious spoof of our favorite murder mysteries. Libertad (7931 Lincoln Ave.), The Village Inn Sports Bar and Grill (8050 Lincoln Ave.) and Makisu Sushi Lounge & Grill (7150 Carpenter Rd.) offer something for everyone’s taste buds.

It’s a grand time for a revival of the beloved Once Upon a Mattress. Long ago and far away, Queen Aggravain decreed no one could marry until her son found a bride. Many princesses came to win his hand, but none could pass the Queen’s impossible tests. That is, until a “shy” swamp princess showed up. With a wave of wonderful songs, this rollicking spin on The Princess and the Pea provides side-splitting shenanigans. Hit Howard Street restaurants Good To Go Jamaican Cuisine (711 Howard St.), Peckish Pig (623 Howard St.) and Ward Eight (629 W. Howard St.) for a meal or small bites and cocktails.
