Celebrate Old Orchard Mall's 70th anniversary with a stroll down memory lane! Learn how malls have shaped American life and explore the roles of Old Orchard, the Edens Expressway, Skokie's Fun Fair amusement park, and Niles North High School in Skokie history. Meet outside west entrance to Macy's at Old Orchard Mall (4909 Old Orchard Ctr.) Recommended for ages 12+. Park in green garage and meet outside west entrance to Macy's. This will be a casually paced walk with frequent stops to look at building exteriors. Children younger than 12 free with paid adult. The route is about a mile long with public seating available at many, but not all, stops. Walk-ins are welcome as unreserved space permits. Walks will take place in light rain. In the event of more severe weather, we may provide an indoor equivalent at the Skokie Heritage Museum or reschedule.
