Golfing on the North Shore

A golf course can serve as your second office, the perfect location for an important business meeting or sales pitch. But a day of golf can also serve as a perfect summer outing with your family, spouse or friends. Whichever way you’re looking to hit the links this summer, you’ll score a hole in one at any of these courses on Chicago’s North Shore.
Canal Shores
1030 Central St., Evanston
This 18-hole, par 60 course opened in 1919 and features 11 holes in Evanston and 7 in Wilmette. Golfers can join leagues or sign up for private or group lessons. Kids can also get in on the fun with golf camps and clinics. Season passes are available, as are 5-hole, 10-hole and individual tee times. Plus, Canal Shores is located near the Central Street “L” and Metra stops and offers free parking.

Chevy Chase Country Club
1000 N. Milwaukee Ave., Wheeling
Whether you’re looking to spend a relaxing day on the greens with family and friends or need a special outing to entertain clients, you’ll love your time at Chevy Chase. Frequent golfers can opt for the Traditions Players Card, which allows golfers to save $5 every time they play, get 20 percent off all Golf Shop merchandise, book 14-day advance tee times and more. 
Glencoe Golf Club
621 Westley Road, Glencoe
Located near Chicago Botanic Garden and Ravinia Festival, the Glencoe Golf Club offers a Practice Facility, so you can perfect your game, and a Golf Academy for individual instruction, junior programs and more. Membership options include Senior Membership, Permanent Tee-Time Membership, 18-Hole Ladies League and Twilight 9-Hole Golf League.

Glenview Park Golf Club
800 Shermer Road, Glenview
Glenview Park is an 18-hole, par 70 course on 6,113 yards of gorgeous grounds that were extensively renovated in 2015. A variety of leagues and clubs — Glenview Men’s Golf Club, Glenview Amateur Golfers (Women’s League), Sunday “Mixers” and more — enjoy golfing here.

Join the Senior Golf League, Wednesday Working Women’s League, Parent/Child Golf League or more at this club, which boasts a 2,600 square foot clubhouse. Special Events are held throughout the year, including Family Nights on Saturdays and Sundays in July and August, Birdies, Bags and Beers (July 21) and Glow in the Dark Golf (Aug. 19). Plus, try your hand at platform tennis at the four-court platform tennis complex.

Choose to play the 18-hole, par 70 course or the East Nine, where you can enjoy the Family Golf course. The Sportsman’s Golf Discount Card is available to residents for free and non-residents for $50. A Preferred Player Program is also available. 
Weber Park Golf Course
9350 Weber Park Place, Skokie
Golf at this nine- hole, par 3 course through Nov. 30 (except on Thanksgiving). According to the Skokie Park District, this course if best for beginners, golfers working on their short game, or group FootGolf. Instructional programs and junior clinics are available, as are leagues such as the After Work Summer League or the Ladies Summer League. Babysitting is available for parents using the course.
Winnetka Golf Club
1300 Oak St., Winnetka
This golf club, which offers an 18-hole course, a par 3 course and a driving range, celebrated its Centennial in 2017. Membership and a frequent player discount program are available, and both kids and adults can take part in instructional programs or private lessons.
