Bienen School of Music
One of the oldest degree-granting music institutions in the United States, the Henry and Leigh Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University offers a unique education combining conservatory-level musical training with the academic benefits of a top-tier research institution. Each year, the school hosts four concert subscription series—the Skyline Piano Artist Series, Segovia Classical Guitar Series, Winter Chamber Music Festival, and Keyboard Conversations—as well as three fully staged opera productions, the Tichio-Finnie Vocal Master Class Series, and upwards of 300 student and faculty performances. Performances encompass orchestral, band, and choral music, jazz, opera, studio ensembles, and contemporary music. Bienen School of Music events take place at Pick-Staiger Concert Hall, Regenstein Hall of Music, and three performance spaces within the Ryan Center for the Musical Arts—Galvin Recital Hall, the McClintock Choral and Recital Room, and the Ryan Opera Theater—as well as Cahn Auditorium and Alice Millar Chapel.
