Tasting History with Max Miller in conversation with Nina Barrett

Max Miller charmed his way to YouTube stardom with his witty, fascinating re-creations of food and drink from bygone worlds, from ancient Egypt and Babylon to the Mongol and Aztec empires. On October 23, 2023, Bookends & Beginnings invites you to join us to sample a cocktail (alcoholic or virgin) from Chicago’s past while listening to Max talk about his fabulous new cookbook, Tasting History, with food writer and bookstore owner Nina Barrett.  At this event, Max will discuss his path to culinary stardom with bookstore owner Nina Barrett, herself a James Beard Award winning food reporter, while you enjoy a glass of Raspberry Shrub, a historical Chicago cocktail featured in Tasting History. Please note: Capacity for the talk-and-cocktail event is limited to 75, so reserve your spot ASAP. Your ticket includes a copy of the book and one drink—or, if you choose, you can skip the drink and just get the book.
