5k Run & 1Mile Walk - If you’ve ever wanted to run or walk on an actual airport runway, your opportunity has arrived! Our USATF certified 5k course is chip timed and the 1 mile walk includes the runway too! Strollers are welcome! Participation medals will be given to everyone. Come back to the airport after 5:00 pm and enjoy live music. Chicago’s premier country cover band, Gone Country, will be kick off the “Rock” at this year’s Rock ‘n’ Run the Runway at 6pm!
Enjoy food trucks, a beer tent, airport maintenance equipment static display and fireworks at the annual joint venture between the Village of Wheeling, City of Prospect Heights and Chicago Executive Airport.
