Socially Distant Outdoor Activities Posted on 03/30/2020
Listing Photo As spring begins to bloom, thoughts turn to getting outside more. Nothing compares to the vision of flowers bursting onto the scene and the sounds of birdsong filling the air. But with the new safety rules of social distancing in place, we need to find space to roam and exercise while keeping apart. Many of Chicago’s North Shore parks, preserves, and trails can remain open as long as everyone honors the guidelines in place to protect us. Stay up-to-date on the latest public health guidance from the CDC and the State of Illinois, before heading out. Check out these spacious areas with biking and running/walking paths as you stretch your legs, renew your senses, and find a bit of peace. Bring the dog!

Happy Hour at Home Posted on 03/30/2020
Listing Photo Cheers! In this new world of staying in, local laws are relaxed (at least for now) so that Chicago North Shore restaurants and drinkeries can sell packaged beer and liquor to go. Time to party…on the couch! Go casual with a beer and some pub grub and put on a classic football or basketball game on cable. The roar of the crowd or squeak of the sneakers will set that mood. Fire up the turntable or stream some jazz or opera for fancier fare with fine wines and four-course gourmet meals. Or sing your own Dean Martin oldie with a nice chianti and pasta (That’s Amore!). Whether you’re sheltering solo, residing with family, or Zoom-ing with your crew you can have a fun night in and support your local businesses.
