See the best and brightest in emerging national and international artists at this popular music festival in Chicago's suburbs. Enjoy beer or wine in the new food court with an array of food trucks and local restaurants as you listen to music, stroll the grounds or sit at one of many tables. Kids can frolic in the family zone. Acts include GUSTER and Phillip Michael Scales on the Main Stage or Abby Hamilton and Windser on the Chapel Stage. Local groups Bed Heads and Rhythm Revolution will perform, along with so-called "dad bands" like Artificially Hip and Steely Dad.

Experience the “Ghost Army” in this exhibition detailing the heroic tale of how the U.S. Army’s top-secret 23rd Headquarters Special Troops helped win the war with their covert operations across Europe in WWII. Armed with nothing heavier than .50 caliber machine guns, this elite group of artists, engineers, professional soldiers and draftees—the first mobile, multimedia, tactical deception unit in U.S. Army history—used inflatable tanks and vehicles, fake radio traffic, sound effects and even phony generals to fool German forces. Artifacts include artwork and uniforms, plus archival photography and sketches from unit officers.

Starting in June, this monthly, fun-filled evening features a variety of artists, makers and retail shops offering their delightful wares. The party mood is enriched with music by DJ Johnny Price and craft beer from Smylie Brothers Brewing Co. Visit the festive heart of Downtown Evanston on these first Thursdays when the market has a theme to flaunt amazing local talent and businesses, like this round which includes Ayla's Originals, Madison Grace, Gearhead Outfitters and many more.

With fun food trucks, great sales and exciting activities, Glenview's annual Summer Fest showcases something for everyone from restaurants to crowd favorites, including Rio Bamba, Scandinavian Ski Shop and Katy Boldt Jewelry. Watch for surprising delights like the special “plant wall” VIP section up front. Plus check out the Glenview Fire Department's fire pole, special entertainment and kid-friendly activities, such as balloons, crafts and maybe even puppies.

Gear up for this all-day event that sports gourmet food trucks, balloon artists, airport static display, live music and fireworks display. In the morning, register for Run the Runway, a 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk on the main runway and taxiways with an opportunity to experience the runway as airplane pilots do. The Midwest’s most renowned cover band, Mike & Joe, will be headlining the “Rock” at this year’s Rock ‘n’ Run the Runway going on at 8:15 pm, with a break at 9:15 pm for fireworks!

Musical Theater Works presents this immersive Broadway gem where you feel part of Ariel’s world the moment you step into the theater. When she disobeys her father, King Triton, and makes a deal with evil witch Ursula, Ariel thinks her dreams have come true. But the bargain is not what it seems! Ariel needs help from her colorful friends—Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull and Sebastian the crab—to save her true love and restore order under the sea.

One of the oldest, largest and most respected arts organizations on the North Shore, Evanston Art Center champions contemporary art works across multiple mediums and hosts programming open to the public. Curated by artist and community activist Fran Joy, this new exhibit highlights the work of people in the community who identify at Black, Indigenous or People of Color. Special events include an Opening Reception (Jun. 3), Curator’s Tour & Talk (Jun. 16) and Joyy Norris on Black Representation in Media (Jun. 23). As they journey from competitors to confidantes, watch them navigate adolescent milestones and training together—only to learn the future is only certain for one of them. This fast-paced, engaging new play received critical acclaim for its portrait of two high-achieving young women, simultaneously rivals and allies, pushing each other to be the best.
