The One-Man One-Man Play Festival! at the Skokie Theatre
July 11, 2009 - July 12, 2009

Tim Mooney presents his celebrated work, MOLIERE THAN THOU capturing the greatest comic playwright of all time! When Moliere's cast has all come down with food poisoning, he offers, instead, to present a collection of his favorite monolouges to the audience, leading them through hilarous routines from "Tartuffe", "The School for Wives", "The Bougeois Gentleman", "Don Juan", "The Imaginary invalid", "Scapin" and "The Precious Young Maidens". Following an extended intermission, Mooney returns to perform CRITERIA, taking the audience from 300 years in the past to 300 years in the future! It is the year 2336, and racism has been replaced with "Numberism", as people are judged and discriminated by the social security numbers, now tattooed on the palms of their hand. Mooney's central character, raised out of the Social Security radar, is a home-grown terrorist, brought up to make a strategic nuclear attack on the homeland of the "bloated, bourgeois fives" who now occupy what was once the Western United States. This one-man thriller is sidetracked when "Albert Gardner" makes an unscheduled stop in a Colorado diner, and a visit with a local waitress and a trucker threatens to turn the play into a comedy! 7/11/09, 8:00 pm; 7/12/09, 2:00 pm. $20 in Advance, $25 at the Door. Determined to avenge his mother's unjust disinheritance, Louis sets off on an inventive killing spree. Playing all of the eight remaining relatives who stand in Louis' way is Alec Guinness.
