Forgotten Evanston
June 9, 2018

Join the Forgotten Chicago crew (forgottenchicago.com) for an in-depth 2.5-hour walking tour of Evanston’s lesser known built environment. Along with the usual overlooked oddities found on every Forgotten Chicago tour, you’ll learn how Evanston’s downtown remains one of the most dynamic in the region, despite (or perhaps because of) an unbuilt scheme in the early 1960s to turn part of it into a pedestrian mall. The tour guides will also talk about other architectural oddities, long-forgotten landmarks, and curiosities in the built environment during the tour. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to explore dynamic Evanston in a different light! The tour starts at the Davis Street CTA station on Benson. Meet after the tour at That Little Mexican Cafe, 1010 Church Street, for refreshments and conversation. REGISTER BY JUNE 2 at: event@designevanston.org.  $20. Type: Festival/Special Events.
