Pi Day: Best Places to Get Pie on Chicago's North Shore

Mark your calendars — March 14 is Pi Day! While that’s not exactly a celebration of the delicious dessert, why not make it one? This month, as you try to recite as many digits of pi as you can remember (3.14159…), make your way to one of these restaurants or bakeries for a tasty slice of sweet (or savory!) pie.

Sweety Pies Bakery
8042 Lincoln Ave., Skokie
This family-owned bakery and cafe uses only the best ingredients to make their homemade desserts. You can order their signature pies in large (9”) or mini (6”) and flavors like Apple Pie Crisp, Double Crust Apple, Chocolate Cashmere, and Crocodile (made with pecans, chocolate, and rum).

Bob Chinn’s Crab House
393 S. Milwaukee Ave., Wheeling
If you thought this restaurant was all about seafood and steak, think again. Whether you go with Alaskan “RED” King Crab Legs or Mahi Mahi, end your meal with Bob’s Slice of Paradise (a macadamia nut crust with coconut milk pudding and fresh whipped cream), Choconananut Pie (chocolate, peanut butter, and banana with an Oreo crust), Key Lime Pie, or Apple Pie.

After scarfing down pizza pie — try the new Shrimp Scampi Pizza or favorites like The Original BBQ Chicken Pizza, Sicilian, and Roasted Artichoke and Spinach — order a slice of Key Lime Pie made with a graham cracker crust and housemade whipped cream.

Not sure you’ll have enough room for dessert after a delicious meal paired with just the right wine? Well, at Cooper’s Hawk, desserts are perfect for sharing, which means you don’t have to say no to Banoffee Pie, with banana and toffee filling, or Key Lime Pie, topped with lime dust.

Craving something sweet after dining on Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, Chicken Alla Parmigiana, Skirt Steak, or Housemade Potato Gnocchi? End your evening with Key Lime Pie topped with fresh whipped cream.
