5 Museums to Explore During North Shore Museum Month

Drum roll, please! We’re excited to announce the first ever North Shore Museum Month! From April 1-30, you can explore some of the museums that make the North Shore so great while taking advantage of discounts and special offers. All you have to do is show the museum you’re visiting this page on your phone. And don’t forget to share your experience with us using #NSMM18.

Here are just a few of the museums you can explore this month — and their special offers:

Mitchell Museum of the American Indian
3001 Central St., Evanston
During North Shore Museum Month, the Mitchell Museum will offer 2-for-1 admission, so it’s the perfect time to explore the new Native American Woven Arts exhibit, which opened in February. Stop by to see unique baskets, rugs, blankets, and more. Plus, don’t miss other exhibits like Heritage Markers: Local Native American History and Cultures, Pottery — A Timeless Tradition, The Teaching Wigwam, and more.

American Toby Jug Museum
910 Chicago Ave., Evanston
Perhaps the North Shore’s most unusual museum, the American Toby Jug Museum houses the largest collection of Toby and character jugs in the world (more than 8,000!). As you make your way through the museum, you’ll find collections of 19th century Toby jugs, tiny Tobies, holiday jugs, Star Trek and Star Wars character jugs, Disney and Harry Potter jugs, and much more. Admission is free, and during North Shore Museum Month the museum is offering a book raffle with entry.
